This week my fifth book was published. As I type those words, it all seems so surreal to me. When I set out on this journey in 2015, I didn’t even know if I could write one book. It had always been my dream, but I wasn’t certain if I would be able to turn that dream into a reality. After my first book, Investigating the Heart, was released, I made a goal for myself to write five books. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure if I could do it. I thought perhaps that the first book was a fluke- a one-time thing. I wasn’t sure if lightning could strike again. So, I didn’t set a time frame for the goal, and the thought of having five books to my name seemed like nothing more than a pipe dream. However, in not quite two years, I have written five books.

People often ask if each book gets easier to write, and the answer is an emphatic NO! My first book was the easiest to write, and each book after that has been incrementally harder. As I begin a new book, I wonder if I will really be able to do it again. I question my ability to create every single time. But now that I’ve done it five times, deep down I know that I will be able to do it again. I know this because writing is a part of me at my very core. It is essentially ME.

So as I celebrate the release of my fifth book this week, I am feeling extremely thankful and blessed. I’m happy that so many readers have connected with my characters and the worlds I’ve created. I’m happy that you’ve shared your time with me, celebrated with me, and supported me. I thank each and every person who has purchased, read, and reviewed my work. It really does mean the world to me. I guess that means it’s time to make a new goal for myself. The story continues…
